Hidden in Plain Sight

March 12 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm EDT

$25

Tickets Here.

An original one act play written by Linda Lord and directed by Chris Rabideau, explores the intersectionality of homelessness and mental health in Windsor.

Synopsis

Marie is the Manager of the Hand Up Homeless Shelter and Food Bank. Her staff includes a new social worker who while learning the ropes learns a lot about the homeless population. As the day progresses, several clients move in and out of the shelter, sharing frustrations, fears, and love. You will meet a young couple wrestling with an unplanned pregnancy, a young man whose partner has recently overdosed, and a girl looking for her schizophrenic father, among others. Join the cast and creative team of Arts Collective Theatre as they present their 2023 Social Justice performance about what it means to struggle with homelessness and mental health, while hidden in plain sight.

Hidden In Plain Sight is part of ACT’s North of 50 Program

North of 50 is a program targeting the vulnerable seniors’ population with a strong focus on members of racialized and newcomer groups, and members of LGBTQ2+ communities. This program will give opportunities for seniors to lead and participate in online and in person arts-based practices including story sharing/journaling, movement, visual art, and mental health workshops.

Thank you to the New Horizons for Seniors Program grant for funding ACT’s North of 50 Programming.
