ANYWHERE BUT HERE
A collaboration between The Windsor Youth Centre and Arts Collective Theatre.
Anywhere But Here was based on a collection of real-life stories told by local youth during social justice workshops facilitated by Chris, working in conjunction with The Windsor Youth Centre, and approved by the Greater Essex County District School Board. The play focused on universal issues facing youth in an ever changing world including – mental health, unhealthy relationships, drug/alcohol use, poverty, education, parents/guardians, peer pressure, LGBTQ+, friends, and the systemic challenges faced by some youth in foster care.
The show was entered into the 2016 Windsor-Walkerville Fringe Festival and won an award for Best Cast Performance. The project has been documented on film and the film was released on Thursday, October 19 2017 at the 6 year anniversary party for The Windsor Youth Centre.
